Dad's Cars

The 1988 GT:
This was the car that started it all for me. My Dad's 1988 Mustang GT 5.0. My Dad custom ordered
it in 1988 with absolutely no options except the GT option itself, air conditioning and a sunroof. It was a stripper
for sure, but boy did it run :)  When this car was on the streets with my Dad driving, there was not much
that could touch it. Yeah, it was stock, but remember, this is 1988 we're talking, and the only cars that were faster
from the factory were The Buick Regal Grandnational and sometimes the Vett. People weren't modifying their cars then
anything like they are today.. In 1988, this car was the king of the streets...

The 1994 GT
My dad went through a number of cars after the 88'GT. He bought a new 1990 Honda Accord (not pictured), which he
quickly grew bored with, and then a surprisingly quick, Bright Red 1992 Probe GT Turbo which he kept for two years..
But it was back to Mustangs in 1994 with a Laser Red 1994 Mustang GT. This car I fell in Love with and later bought
for myself. It was the car that later became the supercharged beast I have today.. (See "my 1994 GT from the main page)

The 96 Cobra
Next, dad got serious and purchased a new 1996 Cobra. This car was a theft recovery off the lot, and the wheels were
stolen before it was recoverd. The dealer gave it to my Dad with new Cobra R wheels on it, and man did they look sweet.
Not many cars had the Rs in 96' and I think my Dad helped put the Cobar R trend into motion.. This 96 car was extremely
fast, and turned a 13.9 in bonestock trim. Unfortunately, it kept throwing the serpentine belt. The 4th time it through the belt
Doug traded it in on the 99GT.

The 99 GT
This car always impressed me. The lucious Blue was complimented by the new angular body style of the 99s. My dad was one
of the first around to have the new body style in our area. It was definately a head turner. In bonestock trim, my Dad turned in a
reasonably quick 14.3 in hot weather at Atco. Not bad for a GT!

The 2001 Gt:
Well, my Dad surprised me and pulled up at my house with this sweetie today! A brand new yellow 2001 GT . Why you ask?..
Simple.. Because he wanted it. Congrats Dad!
