My photo album
Well, you knew it would happen
sooner or later, huh? Here are some
pictures that mean something special to me, even if they mean nothing to anyone
else.

I know you already saw
this. This is me. This is
Eddie the teacher, aka Mr. McGrath, aka Mr. McGee, Mr. McGeegee, Mac,
and Mr. Magnesium.
I’ve been called many other
things, but we won’t mention them here.
Oh yeah. PLEASE never call me
“Ed.” Ed is a talking horse.

These are my two guys. This is one of the only pictures of Charlie
smiling I could find (he’s the older one).
He hates getting his picture taken, but too bad. There are actually people who think I made
him up!
The younger gentleman here is my
son Jordan. I have plenty of good
pictures of him, and NOBODY thinks I made Jordan up!

This is Jordan as most people
know him—smiling. Charlie and I have
had thousands of things to be grateful for over the years. All of them pale in comparison to
Jordan. He’ll be 8 years old on
September 15, 2000. He came to live
here on November 18, 1993, and was adopted on January 26, 1996 (by
Charlie. Unfortunately, in Delaware,
two men cannot adopt a child as a couple.
We tossed a coin and Charlie won).
I can’t imagine what our life
would be like without Jordan. God
decided that we needed him and he needed us.

This guy is Mr. Penny the
cat. I know, we named our cat Mr.
Something—how GAY! Tough. For one thing, he was copper colored as a
kitten, he’s a male (chromosomally at least), and besides, our next door
neighbor is Mrs. Penny. We had to
distinguish somehow!
Mr. Penny is 18 years old. He’s a crotchety old thing. Charlie adopted him when they lived in
Atlantic City, and he’s only recently been nice to me. For years, he ran away from me, hissed at
me, and was a real snit. Now, he curls
up in my lap. I think he’s senile.

Now this fine animal is Buddy
the Dog. Buddy is three years old
(people years). He’s part border
collie, part terrier (not sure what kind), and part whatever the dog across the
street was.
Buddy is the ideal dog. He obeys, loves all of us, especially
Jordan, eats anything that hits the floor, and is as dumb as a can of
paint. I love him.

This is our lovely home in
scenic North Wilmington, Delaware.
We’ve lived here since 1992. Be
it ever so humble, there’s no place like home.
We never got around to naming the place—we call it “House.”

We have several gardens around
the house. You can see our roses in the
above picture. This view is the side of
the house. We (mostly Charlie) built
the retaining wall on the right. Our
next door neighbors gave us the marble slabs that make up the pathway. The left garden is my pride and joy—my herb
garden (basil, dill, rosemary, thyme, sage, tarragon, oregano, and
chives). The other side is an annual
garden (petunias here) with low voltage lights.

The three of us in our Easter
Sunday duds.

Why in God’s name did I wear my
glasses?
Between me and Charlie is
Marshall. Marshall was Charlie’s best
friend in high school. We lost Marshall
to AIDS on June 13, 1994. We miss him
every day. This was a very important
day for Marshall. It was his
confirmation to the Catholic faith.

This is a picture of my place of
business, Alexis I. Dupont High School in Greenville, Delaware. I love it here.

This is my brother Mike and his
family. You can see everybody. His wife Beth Ann is on the couch, his
daughter Norah is holding up her Christmas present as her brother Liam looks
on.
That’s all for now folks. Keep watching this spot for more.
