I want to relate a little situation that I am going through right now with Walmart. Today, the day I am writting this, is Thursday, March 4, 2000. Nine days ago I went to my local Walmart to buy a rifle that they did not stock. I figured that the rifle would get to Walmart before the California 10 day waiting period was met. When I got to Walmart and was talking to the sales lady in the sporting goods department she told me that the lay-away depatrment has to order the rifle. Then, she explained, that in order for it to be in lay-away and have them order it, that I would have to leave a balance. (I ended up leaving a 22 cent balance). Then, she also told me that in order to start the 10 day waiting period, the rifle would have to be paid off. But the only way I could pay it off is when it gets there. So I asked how long did she think that it would take to get to the store. She made a phone call to the place where it was going to be ordered from and she found it was in stock. She told me since it was in stock it wouldn't be long. So I thought it shouldn't be that much longer than a few days to get here. Boy was I wrong. Now, in the morning it will be ten days since the order and the rifle hasn't even come in yet. This means that whenever the rifle does come in, it will take 10 days from that time. So this rifle, will take at least 20 days and maybe 30 or more to end up in my hands.
All that to say this. In the experience that I am going through as I type, I could not and will not recommend Walmart for any of your firearms needs. Also this is what I am planning to tell my students, (I am a certified NRA rifle instructor), when they are ready to purchase a rifle or any other firearms related products.
Thanks for reading this. Now, please go to my main paige and sign my guestbook. If you don't want to identify yourself that's perfectly O.K. I just want your thoughts and ideas of my website. Thanks. |
