As a Bradenton, Fla., man had left his apartment on foot in the early morning hours one Sunday to meet a woman, he was violently assaulted by two people who jumped him from behind. The swift, vicious attack left the stunned victim with 16 stab wounds to the back. Despite the seriousness of his injuries, however, the man fought back, pulling a gun and firing at his attackers. His incredible will to live and his firearm made for a formidable combination and eventually won the day. One of the assailants was flown to a nearby medical center suffering from a gunshot wound to the stomach. And thanks to the victim's diehard attitude, which continued even as he lay in a hospital bed, he was able to identify the other attacker for police who later charged the man with attempted murder. The medical industry reports information about gunshot victims to the government. The government uses this information to calculate how much money is spent on "gun violence". The government then uses this information to stress the need for gun control. It appalls me to think that this criminal's medical costs were probably entered into the statistics the government collects. The helocoper flight, private hospital room, (you don't think that the police are going to let this guy have a roommate, do you), emergency room, operating room, doctors, nurses, etc., etc.,etc. Well, if this man in Florida could not carry his gun due to lawmakers efforts to curb the medical costs of gun violence then I guess the government would have attained it's goal to eliminate gun violence. |
