| JOHN BRUSTER, SR. 1733-1816 Will Book A, page 189; Recorded and proved, March 4, 1816. (Will Date: June 1, 1813) WILL of John Bruster State of South Carolina} Pendleton District} In the name of God amen, I John Bruster, Senr. of the State of aforesaid being weak of body of sound mind and memory (Blessed be God) and calling to mind the mortality of the body and that it is appointed to all men once to die, Do make an ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form as followth and first I commend my soul to God who gave it and my body to the Grave be decently buryed at the discretion of my Executors hereafter named and for settling and disposing of such worldly goods as God has been pleaed to bless me with, I dispose it in the following manner, that is to say that all my just debts be paid and funeral expenses be discharged. Secondly I give and bequeath unto the children of my son Samuel Bruster deceased one hundred acres of land including the improvement it being part of plantation whereon I now live, likewise I leave my horse saddle and bridle to my grandson John Dunlap Bruster being the youngest son of Samuel Bruster deceased. Thirdly what cattle is left in my possession at my death I leave to my grandaughter Harriet Bruster. Fourthly I give and bequeath to Peggy Bruster widow of Samuel Bruster my trunk and spectacles. Fifthly I give and bequeath unto the children of my son William Bruster one hundred dollars to be paid to them by note of hand which I have drawn on William Dunlap for six hundred dollays made payable to me. Sixthly I give my son Hugh Bruster one hundred dollars to be paid him out of the above mentioned note. Seventhly I give and bequeath to the children of John Bruster one hundred dollars to be paid them out of the above mentioned note. Eighthly I give and bequeath to the children of my son Sherriff Bruster one hundred dollars to be paid them out of the above mentioned note. Ninthly I give and bequeath fifty dollars to the children of my daughter Ginny Gray which she had to David Gray to be paid them out of the above mentioned note. Tenthly I give and bequeath to the children of my daughter Peggy Camp one hundred dollars to be paid to them out of the above mentioned note, like wise my bed. Eleventhly I give and bequeath to the children of Betsy Fl______ fifty dollar to be paid out to them of the above mentioned note. And whereas left one hundred acres of land a part of the tract on whereon I now live my will is that it is to be sold and money arising therefrom divded among the children of son James Bruster deceased, and Four Dollars to be given the child of my son Henry Bruster deceased and the remainder of said money divided among all my children both male and female. And lastly I do hereby appoint my son William Bruster and my trusty friend William Orr to be my Executors of this my last will and testament, Revoking and disannuling all other wills by me made and only ratifying and confirming this to be my last will and testament. Personally appeared before me A(lexander) Moorhead who being dully sworn on the Holy Evangels of Almighty God doth make oath and that he saw John Bruster sign, seal, and publish, pronounce and declare the same said John Bruster was then of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding to the best of the deponents knowledge and belief and he the said A. Moorhead did sign his name as a witnessthereto at the request of the testator in his presence at the same qualified William Bruster Executor.
