Spark Charging
Part Three
"Well come on down, Gold Streak, don't be shy," he said to me.
"Yeah, don't be shy," sneered a light grey femme called Quicksharp from the row opposite the stairs as I stood up. For some reason, she just didn't like me and set out to make me miserable at every chance she got. Maybe it was that I could fly and she couldn't.
I ignored her like I always did and continued on down the stairs.
"What's up with her?" Jet asked me softly as I walked up to him.
"I think she's jealous to say the least, Jetfire, Sir," I replied, trying hard to sound like my normal self and not weak and shy like I loved him. Looking up, I saw the digipad stylus she was using broke between her fingers.
"You don't have to call me Sir, Gold Streak. Just Jetfire will do," he replied.
"I know, but you should always respect authority and your superiors," I stated calmly.
I could have sworn he smiled underneath his mask as he patted my head. "Someone taught you well, I wonder who though," he thought as he crossed his arms across his chest and looked at me funny. His last comment had a slight trace of sarcasm in it, I believe he had just figured out who I really was. After all, he had said my exact words to me when I was human. If he hadn't guessed it was me yet, I don't know what would. "Are you sure you want to do this?"
"Yes, why?"
"Not many people like to demonstrate this and some aren't suited to do this properly. I only happened to teach this class because everyone else that would have were either not available, not comfortable with doing this, or just not mature enough," he explained to me and the rest of the class. "I ask this again, do you feel comfortable doing this?"
I nodded my head.
"Alright then, now if you'd kindly remove your mask," he asked as he removed his and set it down on the desk; I removed mine and chose to hold it in my hands.
"If someone is loosing energy from their spark..." I listened to him as I looked back up at the class.
Straightshot was the clever artist and writer among us, I noticed she had been writing or drawing something all during class and had now oviously just finished it. She was smiling greatly as the others tried to stiffle their laughter. I fought hard to keep the lubricant from rising in my face as I looked at the picture that displayed Jetfire holding me in his arms and from what it looked, kissing me quite deeply. Though I could control the lubricant, my optics shined brightly and I allowed a small smile to slip out for a moment, signalling to her that I liked it. Turning the picture back to face her, they whispered among themselves about it.
I was shook out of my reverie when Jetfire suddenly picked me up to hold me, mimicking the drawing Straightshot had made. "Usually it will help to get the victim to where they are horizontal and it can be done by holding them like this if you don't have a place to lay them down," now I really had some trouble with the lubricant in my face. "If they're just too heavy, don't worry about it because you can still revive them, even if they're vertical. This only helps to allow the energon to circulate more freely," he set me down gently to stand next to him again.
"The most important part to revive them is to give some of your energy to them in order to spark theirs," he explained. "Though it can be done other ways, the best way to transfer energy is mouth to mouth and which is how I will demonstrate this. Last chance, are you sure you want to do this?" he asked me.
"Why not, I don't have a problem with it," I tried to say to not make it sound harsh and apathetic.
"Alright, it will be easier to see what is happening if you're laying horizontal."
"What do you mean easier to see?" I wondered.
"Oh yes, excellent question," he said as if he forgot to mention something. "Yes, to know if you're doing it right and if it is working, the victim's body will start to glow in certain colors, depending on what type of energy you and they have. You can still see the glow if they are vertical, but it will be easier to see the glow if they are laying horizontal," he explained to everyone. "This is why Gold Streak here will lay sideways when I do this on her, it will be easier to see the glow that way."
"I get it," I whispered to myself in comprehension of the subject.
"Ready?" he asked me.
I replied, "I am."
Picking me up and holding me horizontal, I stared into his optics. 'Am I really wanting to do this?' I thought, almost having second thoughts. My fuel pump was pounding hard suddenly.
Just as he leaned in to kiss me, my mind wavered and I heard a loud sound.
*
I woke up laying on the floor; Jetfire, Kazekaji, Windslash, Straightshot and even Lightflame with his friends Rancor, Devien and Tybalt were staring at me.
"Rise and shine, sleepy," Jetfire sang. "You alright, Co."
"I am," I said before I realized what name he acknowleged me as. I gasped.
"Co?" The other's murmured to each other in confusion.
"Hey, it's okay, no need to be modest," he said. "The whole number thing was a big giveaway anyways," he winked one optic at me. My face flushed. "How'd you know?"
I answered, "The way you were acting at the beginning of class, you seemed depressed. Then I remembered what day it was on earth, so I took a chance basically. And it worked," I smilled.
"Yep, that's the Cobalt I know and love," he commented and helped me up, then gave me a hug. "Hey, I know you kids don't have your next class until later, how 'bout we get an early lunch?"
"Yeah!" All of us minus Jetfire cheered.
"Okay, let's go!" he attached his shield and weapon back on to his forearms. All of us walked out of the room and headed for the commons. "Oh yeah, I'm also filling in for the weapons class later."
I grinned.
