Per Johan Dahlquist/Dalkvist or Nilsson
Montebello leaving Kristiania for Hull in 1903. A year later, the 11th.March 1904 Per Johan left for Hull with SS Montebello, destination North Dakota. Why North Dakota?
I have often wondered which places he went to and what it looked like. This picture was taken in Republic, Ferry County, Washington 1898. Per Johan was last heard from in a letter dated the 1th. of February 1909, Beulah, Ferry County in Washington. Maybe this is all that expected him He had no job, was broke and starving. Beulah was later "drowned", and does not exist anymore. Could anyone provide me with a picture from Beulah WA ?
Per Johan NIlsson, born the 21th.May 1875 in Malung, Dalarna in Sweden. At the age of 15 his family moved to Elg parish, outside Arvika in Vrmland, Sweden. His fathers name was Gucku Nils Persson and his mothers name was Anna .....  He had to sisters named ...... .  ....died in....... A third sister appears in the churchrecords for Malung in ..., but someone told me that she has died when she was young.

After he served as a soldier it seems that he uses the name Dalkvist (in American Dahlquist), but in the marriage records he uses the name Johan Persen/Pettersen. His habit of changing names makes the research a little bit difficult.

This picture was taken when he was serving as a soldier in Vrmland ca.1895. Shortly after he moved to Kristiania and married my great grandmother. They got a son an a daughter. He emigrated in 1904 to search for happines for his family. Back in Norway his wife died in childbirth expecting their third child. Per Johan did not knew. He was heard from 3 times during the period between 1904 and 1909, and later disappeared from the face of the earth.

I have been searching for him for a few years, and I'm now wondering if he is the same person as Per John Dahlquist who died in Tacaoma or Ferry County, Washington, in 1962. Does anyone know when "Tacaoma" Per John Dahlquist was born.

The pictures shows, his Daughter,  my grandmother Anna Bolette Dalkvist, married Nordby. The man is Nils Albert Dalkvist (his first born and son). The two pictures at the bottom probably shows his sisters ........ and  ........., but I don't know who's who.
....is reported dead in ........, place unknown. If they had any childre I don't know. His mother and father mooved from Elg in Vrmland, but I can't find where to, and therefor I don't have a picture of them.
Per Johan was heard from 3 times: 1. Undated letter from Afrahone, Stirling City, California. 2. Bovill, Idaho. Then working 15 miles out in the Forrest building railroads. 3. Letter dated 1tj.February 1909, Beulah, Ferry County Washington. He was broke, Starving and had no money.I'm wondering what he has been doing all those years. Could he be liing to his Family?
My grandmother Anna Bolette Dahlquist (the "white"one), born in Vaalerenga, Kristiania the  24th.February in 1902. This picture is taken at a place or farm called Skovlund/Skavlund or Skaavlund in Filtvedt, Hurum in Buskerud, Norway. This picture is probably from her confirmation in 1916. Her mother would have been 41 years old at that time, but since she was dead Anna and her brother Nils Einar were raised by her grandparents?, uncle ? or ??? Could the old lady behind her back be Annas grandmorher? Then she had to be about 60 years old. Is that possible? Sorry about the quality of this picture, I have to try another scanner for a better result I think.
The man at the left side is my grandmothers brother Nils Einar Dahlkvist. He was also born in Vaalerenga in Kristiania. Born the 26th.February 1900. Baptized the 4th.June 1900.
1907: "Merry Christmas to Anna from Papa", a postcard he sent for his daugheter in 1907, addressed Sterling City, California. Her brother also got a postcard just like this one.
