Jef from Spoken
1. According to the rumors on the streets, Travail has lost one original member along with their new guitarist Aaron. Is Aaron joining Spoken?
***Arron is a good friend of ours. We're trying our people for the guitar
positon, and he happens to be one of the people that were trying out.
2. Spoken has seen many different line ups. How did you guys feel when founding member B.J. Watson left the band? Will Matt be playing guitar
more in the future?
*** it's always tough losing an origional member, but it was God's will for
him to move on and were all still friends and all.
3. It is evident that Matt and Jef are the core members of Spoken and have
a certain chemistry with each other. Does that help with the song writting? How did you guys get together? Also, a side note is that a picture of
Matt and Jef on the cover of "On Your Feet"?
***No that's not Mat and I on the cover, and yes any time that you have a
relationship in a band thats that close it helps.
4. What made you guys decide to switch from the once popular rap/rock style to the more emo/inde rock sounds that you embody today?
***That's just what we like. It allows us to use Mat's voice more
effectively. And all of us in the band just like music that you can sing
along to.
5. What artist have influenced you guys over the years?
***everything. From rock to emo to country to jazz to classical. We listen
to everything
6. At recent concerts we have heard new material. Any plans to record
some of the new material and put it out on a full length LP? If so, what label will be putting it out?
***Ya theres plans for a new record but nothing solid yet, were still just
in the writing stages of the new record. And were still shopping for the
right label to put it out on.
7. What plans do you guys have for the summer?
*** TOUR like always
8. Well thanks for your time. Is there anything we may have missed that you would like to cover or let our readers know? Feel free to say whatever you like.
*** I can't wait for all of you to hear the new material. Keep an eye out
for a sample of the new stuff, on www.spokenmusic.com
