So far, there are two sections to this audio page...

The first, some beautiful music.
The second, is misc. and will be explained below.

Someday I will arrange this page better, but it will work for now.
Please scroll down to whichever audio clip you want to hear.

ENJOY!!

Aaah, the joys of rehearsing in a cathedral with at least 6 seconds of reverb.
on a piece for orchestra and choir.
Where only the immediate stands could hear
what was actually being played....
no kidding here. This actually took place during a rehearsal.
Two geniuses (no names here!) play for my
microphone which is attached to their stand
and being recorded by my small walkman.

I cannot remember what piece this is.

This event took place in 1994 and has amused us ever since.

Here are some of the highlights from this spectacular tape.....

OK, this section of the page will be devoted to a particular tape I have. It is a copy of a copy of a copy etc. Being the collector, of course, I saved this tape and recently dug it up along with what you have already heard.

The first clip:

The story goes this way: This tenor believed that he would be fine hitting the high note in his aria. Everyone warned him not to try, because he had been missing it at all of the rehearsals. But no, he knew that he could do it. Below, are two phrases. Will he make it? Find out below! They are meant to be heard in the order listed.

Phrase 1

---

Phrase 2

Second clip:

Same funny tape as the tenor.
I don't know where these come from.
They were copied around 1989-1990
.

I was once told what this piece was.
Perhaps, Telemann?
It's a bassoon concerto.

Or something like it....

Phrase 1

---

Phrase 2

---

Phrase 3

I am adding this for the simple reason that my friends and I thought this was funny to listen to. It's from our freshman music history class (1989). Can you believe I still have this stuff? It's not hysterical, it might not even be funny. The question is, what were we learning from this piece???

Obscure piece from a long time ago...
