Yellow-throated Warbler (Dendroica dominica)

Toups and Jackson (1987) states this bird is "rare but nearly annual in winter." Breeds at least around Pearlington (J. Jackson 1986b). Range by Toups and Jackson (1987): All Year.
Migration arrival dates are attempted here and should be "visible" in areas where it does not breed.

Permanent resident

Prairie Warbler (Dendroica discolor)

Similar situation to Yellow-throated Warbler above, but does not winter as frequently. Does breed on the coast (J. Jackson 1986b; Jackson and Hodges 1986; Toups and Jackson 1987).

Palm Warbler (Dendroica palmarum)

While not officially "split" into two species, the "Western" Palm Warbler and the "Yellow" Palm Warbler are sometimes distinguished from Palm Warbler in published and personal records. The "Western" race appears to occur as a fall transient (Toups and Jackson 1987), while the "Yellow" race is our more common winter resident, arriving later. Due to the inherent confusion from undifferentiated records, these races are lumped here for the purposes of this project, and yet where specified are split out under the respective races below.
