The purpose of the Expo is to provide a fun, interactive environment focused on disaster preparation, response and recovery in coastal communities and to encourage volunteer opportunities for disaster preparedness by showcasing demonstrations and resources from qualified presenters of established organizations.

The Expo will specifically include education and awareness regarding earthquake, tsunami, fire safety, medical needs, community security, coastal water safety, neighborhood watch, school preparedness, hazardous materials and home disaster preparedness. In addition to educating the public, this event will also provide local emergency organizations with an opportunity to meet with the public and possibly recruit interested citizens.
