"Nothin' my sista" Brian laughed as he answered. "What is up with you?" he asked as she snapped her fingers and danced to an imaginary beat, one she was humming to herself.
"Nothing, I've just flown from Kentucky to Germany, thats a long flight, it starts to get to me..." Whit explained as she laughed and followed behind Brain towards baggage claim, then towards the exit. Two hours later themselves along with the other guys and part of the dancers were entering McDonalds.
AJ had just took a bite from his quarter pounder when his cell phone rang, "Damn I can't eat in peace" he mumbled before swallowing quickly and answering the phone, "Hello?. He sat intently listening to the person on the other line, his mom. "They what?" he asked as he washed his throat out with sweet tea. A few minutes later he ended the conversation and sighed deeply as he hung up his phone.
"What?" Howie asked.
"Your not gonna believe this.." AJ began.
"What happened?" Brian asked.
"Our opening act cancled, again" AJ answered.
"Well I mean it's no big deal, we've played shows before without an opening act, we'll manage..." Nick stated.
"Yea, I know, but you yourself know how we hate doing shows without an opening act, plus when we don't have an opening act the show starts later, the crowds get frustrated, we're put under more pressure, we don't have a rowdy crowd when we get out there, we're not publi-" Kevin began, in one of his many rambling states.
"Kev, we get the point" Brian laughed.
"Sorry, this is just so frustrating.." Kevin sighed as he bit into his chicken sandwhich and looked around the table. The dancers sat off to the side, discussing something amongst themselves, joining the guys conversation every once in a while. Whitney was in a booth with Howie across from her.
"Well who are we going to find to replace whoever was supposed to be our opening act..remember the tour starts tommorow night...." AJ added.
"Ok, we need someone with talent that we can depend on and someone whose not going to get out there and freak when they see the twenty thousand people they are performing in front of..." Nick began.
"Umm..." Brian cut in, Nick meeting his eyes as they seemed to communicate through sign language, Nick looked at Kevin who in turn met AJ's gaze, then to Howie, they all nodded at once. "I got an idea..." Brian began as he looked over at Whit, her eyes meeting with her cusions and knowing exactly what he was about to say.
"Na uh" Whit stated, shaking her head as she leaned back against the booth and stretched her legs out in the remaining portion.
"Oh c'mon, please, it's only temporary, until we find someone else.." Brian pouted.
"Brian, are you crazy that is like twenty thousand people, I'd be the one who'd freak.." Whit began.
"Haven't you sang in front of people before?" Nick asked.
"Umm..yea...but not twenty thousand, at the most roughly one thousand" Whitney answered.
"Well just imgaine it's not that many..." AJ stated.
"I'll mess up and embarass myself" Whitney commented, trying her best to come up with excuses.
"No you won't Whit, you've got talent, no if, ands or buts about it" Brian replied.
"But I don't have any songs, ya know original tracks.." Whitney began, she shot Howie a 'help me' look.
Howie just shook his head and laughed, "Nope, sorry Whit, but I'm all go on this one" he added.
"Ok, then you do cover songs, it's not that hard, and don't lie, you know you have original songs...because you've performed them in competitions before, my Mama knows what you sing, so do I.." Brian pushed the issue, smiling.
"Uhh, I need to go buy clothes though.." Whit sighed as she lifted her head from her hands and looked around at the guys faces. She'd given in.
"Yes, my powers or persuasion always work" Brian grinned as he leaned back in his chair.
"I'm up for shopping whenever your ready.." AJ stated as he yawned.
"I'm going too, we're not letting you alone in a mall with AJ" Kevin replied.
"I say we all go, give a group decision" Nick said as he stretched.
Everyone laughed at Nick's choice of words, 'group decision', but it was true. Three hours later Whitney was standing in the doorway of the GAP dressing rooms, awaiting someones opinion of her clothing. The first guy she saw was Nick, "Yo, come here" she said, grabbing him by the shirt and pulling him back to the fitting area.
"Huh?" Nick asked, turning his attention to her as he swallowed deeply. Looking over her, starting at her feet which were bare at the moment, he moved his way up to her long legs, covered by tight leather pants that flared at the bottom, moving to her mid section where she wore a candy apple red cut off tank top with 'babe' wrote across the front in silver jeweled letters. He licked his lips, never saying anything.
"What are you staring at?" Whit asked.
"You" Nick answered as he read her shirt, "cute" he laughed.
"What?" Whitney asked.
"Your shirt, it's cute" Nick repeated.
"It's not supposed to be cute though, I wanna look sexy" Whit laughed as she looked at Nick, placing her hands on her hips.
"Well it's that too" Nick grinned.
"Oh is it?" Whitney cracked a grin herself.
"Would I lie to you, yea it;s sexy, the shirt, the outfit, you in gener-" Nick began but was interuppted by AJ who came up to his side. Nick gave him an annoyed look.
"Yep, that outfits yours, try this on" AJ stated, looking over at Whit and throwing clothing at her.
"Whatever you say" Whit laughed before turning and going into her dressingroom.
"Sexy outfit?" AJ laughed, he'd overheard Nick.
"Man shut up and you just had to bust up in there in the middle of my sentence" Nick said as he looked over at AJ and hit him in the bicep. Three hours, around six that night they were entering the venue they were to perform at the next day. They'd gotten access that night so they could get the dancers to help Whit make up some last minute dances and the band was there to go over Whit's music. She was doing mostly cover songs, but she had some original songs also. At one AM they were standing in the elevator, patiently awaiting it to reach the eleventh floor where they were staying.
