"God, I'll be glad when I get to Lexington..." Nick sighed as he drove down the interstate. Brian sat adjacent to him, the two were destined for Kentucky, they were on a four day break before going back on the road. They'd decided to spend it in Kentucky, with Brian's family.

"Well if we would have flew like I suggested.." Brian began as he flipped the radio station.

"I didn't want to fly, Brian I'm tired of flying, I've been stuck on planes the last five months, I'm just..." Nick trailed off. Tired of everything he wanted to say, but he wouldn't. He'd keep his comments to himself, he didn't feel like having to give an explanation to anyone right then. His life was going in circles, it was the same routine day after day, hour after hour. He loved his career and it was his life, he didn't have a problem with that, he just wanted a change. He'd broken up with his girlfriend the previous week and it'd left him a state of confusion. He loved her, he could admit that but it just wasn't working between them. He didn't know what he wanted, and it got to him.

"Nick, seriously are you Ok, you look..I dunno flustered" Brian chose his words carefully, not wanting to set him off.

"I'm fine Brian, I'm fine.." Nick sighed again as he looked out the window, then turned his attention back to the road. Fourty five minutes later he was pulling into the Littrell's driveway, their home there was the traditional country kind. Dirt road, farm in the back, big old house fixed up to modern day customs.

The two got out, grabbing their bags along the way and going into the house. After they had greeted everyone they stood in the kitchen, the only person with them, Jackie, Brian's mom. His brother was at work while his dad was outside. "You two make sure your dressed and ready by six, everyone is coming over, as far as family goes. That is unless you want to impress Whitney, she'll be here earlier" Jackie informed them.

"What time is Whit coming over?" Brian asked, already wanting to see his cousion. Even though they had a brother, sister relationship he hadn't seen her in close to two years. He'd spoken to her on the phone numerous times, but everytime he had came home she was out of town on singing competitions, she'd been given the musical gene also. Brian had been away on tours most of the past two years anyways.

Nick sighed listening to their conversation, 'Wow it's Whitney, lets cut flips' he thought sarcastically to himself. He'd met her once before she'd visited the guys on tour, when he they were both sixteen. He hadn't found her attractive, she had medium length dark brown hair, she was shorter and a little on the heavy side. Besides her not so stunning looks, she rarely spoke, never laughed about anything, she was the silent type. Nick didn't know why, he didn't really care why.

"Nick, yo Nick!" Brian broke him from his concentration.

"Huh, what?" Nick asked, looking up at Brian who stood before him twirling a basketball on his index finger.

"You game?" Brian answered.

"Aren't I always?" Nick replied as he took the basketball and made his way out to the basketball court that sat to the side of the house. An hour later they were still going strong at their game, "Too fast for you bro" Nick stated as he dodged one of Brian's attempts to steal the basketball and grinned as it went through the net.

"Man, I'm too fast for you, you just got lucky" Brian laughed as he got the ball back in his hands. He had dodged Nick a couple of times and was preparing to shoot the ball when blaring music distracted him.

"Whose that?" Nick asked as a Black Jeep Grand Cherokee was seen in the distance. It was speeding, obvious due to the dust collecting as it passed a certain spot in the road. The music was intentified as Matchbox 20 as the car came to a halt.

"I think I know who it is.." Brian began as a girl emerged from the open door. She had to be at least five nine, her hair was now in a very short choppy wild cut, but the same dark brown. Her once 'chubby' body had transformed into one with curves in all the right places. "I know who it is...Whit!" Brian began softly at first, then yelled the last word, getting her attention.

"Brian!" Whitney yelled back as she ran towards him.
