"The Coalie players were all buzzing following their demolition of Graffam last week, and this showed in undoubtedly their best performance all season. The first half was very tight and chances few and far between for both sides, but the Coal Exchange kept battling and the break came from a free-kick just outside the box which was headed home by Lee Good.
The defence and midfield battled superbly, especially Jon and Bran in the middle and were solid during the second half. The front two of Geoff and Lee Good worked hard to create some good chances, and despite some pressure from Pulborough, Geoff took a one-on-one with the keeper confidently to put the game beyond Pulborough. Sam (ed. 'Lineaker') came on for the last ten minutes and tapped in a third to secure the points. An excellent performance all round, every player battled and worked as hard as they could." A+.

Graffam Res have made a very ropey start to the season, so despite rumours of first team ringers the Coal Exchange were ready for a goal fest. Usually this sort of over confidence leads to a downfall, but in this case it was fully justified. Graffam were absolutely hopeless, and they only had ten men!
The Coalie managed to maintain the structure of their team for about the first five minutes, and then everyone was legging it forward to get some of the action. The goal tally reads like this : Bran 4, Geoff 4, Jez 3, Scholes 3, Sonny 3, Andy 1, Jon 1 and one own goal. The Graffam team remained in pretty good spirits throughout, and I think were actually quite pleased that they had improved from their last game when they lost 21 v 0!!!

This was the Coalie's record ever victory, beating a 20 v 3 win a few years ago.
Petworth looked a little shaky from the start of this game and the Coalie took advantage with some swift attacking football. There were several chances in the first half but it was midfielder turned wonder striker.... Bran 'Goal Machine' Nicol who scored twice to put the Coalie 2 v 0 up by half-time.
After the break Petworth came back with a couple of good chances, but they were easily dealt with by the solid Coal Exchange back line. It was Geoff who broke the second half deadlock with a deft left-foot chip to put the Coalie three up. Scholesy pitched in with a close range thunderbus for his first goal of the season and made it 4v0.
Darren came on in the seond half to make his first apperance for several years and had some good touches. Overall it was an excellent performance. Some very nice passing football and great finishing. Great result!!
