Coach Roman, My name is Gene Essman, Jr. and in case you don't remember me, I corresponded with you back in early spring. I was the guy with the semi-pro football team here in Denver. I bought your book and proceeded to implement your defense. This was my first year at true X's and O's level coaching. I'd been running the team the previous two years as a high level administrator type of head coach (not much X's and O's). We were 0 and 7 two years ago, 3 and 5 last year. This year, I took over the defense as the coordinator and we were returning one player from last year's defense. This year, we went through our preseason and regular season schedule undefeated, except for a forfeit in our last game due to the officials not showing up, with our defense allowing just 5 points a game average.
