John Kelso of the Austin American-Statesman wrote, "A rather large fellow with a moustache
sambaed the night away in a lime green gown with huge hoops that made the outfit about
2-1/2 yards wide.� He had a basket of flowers on his head...." In the photo on the left, you
can see the helium-filled balloons which were given to me upon my arrival; they helped to
balance/lighten the hat. �On the right, Nat and Jose are in the front and Mike &�Liz are in the back .
Although they claimed to have had a good time, Mike &�Liz never went to another Carnaval...ever!
Gee...was it the matching 1"+ green eyelashes? �The matching bloomers? �The shiny silver boots?
The rowdy crowds that traditionally spew beer over anyone on the dance floor?
