WOW! The photo to the left shows the inspiration for the outfit I created in 1982. This photo is a scan from Manchete magazine, published in Brasil. At Carnaval time, the magazine annually features the lavish outfits created and worn by a chosen few (os grandes destaques) who ride the carros alegricos (elaborate floats) to represent the various samba schools during their presentation in the Sambadrome in Rio de Janeiro.

On the left: Olga and I mugging for the camera. A little bit of leftover Christmas
garland went a long way... I experimented with a more daring, open style by
plunging the neckline of the jumpsuit to just past my waist, and slitting the leg
openings upwards to just below the waist. Strands and strands of gold and
white beads complemented the outfit. After a night of intense shimmying, I had
to revise the outfit for Halloween, to replace the shoulder treatment (right photo).
