First Generation

 

      1. James William Prevatt CSA son of Morgan Prevatt and Sarah Johns was born on 7 Feb 1825 in Georgia. He died on 27 Feb 1884 in Geneva, Orange, Co., Florida and was buried in Geneva Cemetery, Seminole Co.

 

James and Elizabeth were 1st cousins. Their fathers were brothers, sons of James D. Prevatt Sr.

He was also 1st cousins once removed to John R. and David L. Alvarez of Co. B. 2nd Florida Cavalry. Their grandfather Thomas B. Prevatt was James’ uncle.

James enlisted in the Florida Indian Wars, on 16 June 1837, Capt. Mizell's Co

He enlisted in the service of the CSA on 3 Mar 1863. He was captured on 8 Feb 1864 at Camp Finegan, Florida.

James married Elizabeth Prevatt, daughter of Joseph R. Prevatt and Savannah, on 24 Dec 1849 in Alligator, Columbia Co. Florida. Elizabeth was born on 21 Jul 1827 in Nassau, Co., Florida. She died on 20 Jul 1913 in Geneva, Orange Co., Florida and was buried in Geneva Cemetery.

 

They had the following child:

 

+           2 M        i.  Joseph Morgan Prevatt was born in 1850 and died on 18 Aug 1900.

 

 

Second Generation

 

      2. Joseph Morgan Prevatt (James William) was born in 1850. He died on 18 Aug 1900 and was buried in Geneva Cemetery, Seminole Co.

Joseph married Wylantha Jane Leefils on 23 Feb 1874 in Volusia Co., Florida.

 

They had the following child:

               3 M        i.  Thomas Walker Prevatt was born on 5 Sep 1882. He died on 17 Jan 1953 and was buried in Geneva Cemetery, Seminole Co.
