After the death of Covington, Sarah lost her homestead and moved her family to Sumter Co., Georgia, in 1857. Later, according to Robert Shaw, Jr., they moved to Jasper, Hamilton Co., Florida.

Notes for COVINGTON BRANNICK CRIBBS:

In a Bryan Co., Georgia history book, an article written by Mr. Robert Shaw, Jr. states that Covington was in Bulloch Co., Georgia in 1820. In 1840 they were in Bryan Co. This is apparently information obtained from the census. Covington performed marriages in Bryan Co., in the 1840's. He was also associated with the school systems of both counties.
