The following material is an adaptation of the starship design from MACROSS PLUS, a sequel to the original Japanese MACROSS TV series (which became Robotech here in the U.S.). GEISHA-Class Rest & Recreation Ship

BACKGROUND

The chaotic aftermath of Space War One left the world devastated, with billions dead and the earth itself shattered. However, humanity rallied, using the Overtechnology from the Macross and the Allied Zentraedi vessels, including heavy using of cloning to rebuild the plant and animal life on Earth, including humanity itself. This was a time of opportunity, especially for people whose morals were somewhat... less refined. 

The last known pimp on Earth, who is now only known as 'Big Daddy', was out of work following SW1. Almost all of his workers had been killed in the Zentraedi attack, and he was at a loss on how to rebuild his service business to it's former glory. Big Daddy eventually moved operations to Macross City, where he managed to provide escorts for several of the higher ranking officers in the UN Spacy to survive the climax of the war. Over the years, he carefully curried favor with these officers, each unknowing of the others, using his contacts to gain access to a bank of cloning tubes, where he was able to replenish his working staff. It's no coincidence that around this time, a few Admirals were seen with new exotic mistresses. 

Big Daddy and his staff prospered in the times that followed. Unlike other imitators who sprang up elsewhere, his staff contained some of the most talented individuals in the business, and they always commanded a high price for their services. The one time a competitor tried to run him out of business, the competitor was found several months later, on another planet, with "Big Daddy OWNS you." tattooed on his chest. 

As colonies were established in the systems near Earth, Big Daddy found himself toying with the idea of creating an intergalactic service, to go from planet to planet, or even meeting fleets in between worlds. Problem being, he didn't have the numbers, the ships needed, or the defenses that would definitely be required. However, in March of 2032, a derelict Quitra Queleual was discovered nearly intact by elements of the Galaxy Patrol 11. Big Daddy's chance had come. 

Calling on almost all of the favors owed to him, along with a heaping amount of money, Big Daddy was able to have the Quitra Queleual delivered to an independent shipyard for refitting, and to be removed from official UN Spacy records. Work started on turning the Zentraedi landing craft into the ultimate R&R vessel that the galaxy had ever seen. Unfortunately, the money flow from his business was unequal to the money needed to complete the refitting. 

In stepped a family, representing other businesses that could be considered outside of the law. For a portion of the proceeds, and a third ownership, they were able to see their way to loaning the money to finish the reconstruction, along with a few additions. 

Upon it's launch, Big Daddy named the ship, the Geisha. His loyal underlings, remembering what happened to the unfortunate competitor, failed to tell him that the name was inappropriate. A marvelous ship, stocked with anything a person could want, cost most than 8 Stargazers to finish, it brought to mind the legendary pleasure city of Las Vegas, only with more attractive personnel. And indeed, Big Daddy expanded his primary operation, benefiting from the full lineup of cloning tanks, and sizing tubes, to have over 10,000 sexy service personnel for use by anyone willing to pay the price. Sizing tubes were kept for people wishing to interact with service personnel of incompatible size, though it costs extra. Big Daddy does make the restriction that everyone who works for him is over the age of 18. 

The full weapon array was kept for defensive purposes, along with 1000 Glaugs and 3000 Queadluun-Raus, all of which cost a pretty penny. Off duty, the pilots also work in the main portion of the ship, helping in the casinos, bars, or as service personnel. 

The Geisha was a smashing success, paying for it's cost within two years, and greatly delighting soldiers and lonely people across the galaxy. All of the governments turned a blind eye to it, remembering services that Big Daddy performed for them, and indeed, using his services whenever the Geisha dropped by. Reportedly, Big Daddy is keeping an eye out for more Zentraedi vessels, as he would love to expand his operations further, and provide comfort for people whenever they needed it.

NOTES:

  1. Destroying the forward 1/3 of the ship will destroy 1/3 of all missile and laser turrets.  It will not impair the ships space flight, but atmospheric maneuvering becomes impossible.  The ship can still operate, but is at -1 on initiative, -1 to strike, and number of attacks per melee of the weapon systems are reduced by one fourth.
  2. Depleting the MDC of the Middle 1/3 of the ship will destroy the ship. All power systems, thrusters, weapon systems, and life support will fail, and (2d4x10)% of the crew will be killed instantly by explosions, debris, and loss of atmosphere. There is a 70% chance the ship will violently explode.  That's an explosion inflicting 1d4x2,000 MD to any object within 2 miles.  If the ship does not explode, then the ship will be a wreck (though the space wreck may still be valuable because of the technology contained within the remains).  Destroying the Command Center will likely kill the command staff (90% Chance) and will force the ship to use the Sensor Arrays for all forms of long range communications, radar and targeting. The ship can still operate, but is at -1 on initiative, -1 to strike, and number of attacks per melee of the weapon systems are reduced by one fourth. Destroying all the main sensory arrays on the ship will have the same effect, but the command staff will not be killed instantly. Destroying both will deprive the ship of all forms of long range communications, radar and targeting. The ship can still operate, but is at -3 on initiative, -3 to strike, and number of attacks per melee of the weapon systems are reduced by one half.
  3. Depleting the MDC of the Rear 1/3 of the ship will destroy the ship. All power systems, thrusters, weapon systems, and life support will fail, and (2d4x10)% of the crew will be killed instantly by explosions, debris, and loss of atmosphere. There is a 70% chance the ship will violently explode.  That's an explosion inflicting 1d4x2,000 MD to any object within 2 miles.  If the ship does not explode, then the ship will be a wreck (though the spacewreck may still be valuable because of the technology contained within the remains).
  4. Destruction of a Main Thruster will slow the ships speed by 1/2.  Totally depleting the MDC of the main thrusters will force the ship to rely on its secondary thrusters. Depleting the MDC of the main AND secondary thrusters will leave the ship adrift in space. In an atmosphere, the ship will still be able to land and achieve orbit using antigravity generators. The maneuvering thrusters will propel the ship at 100 kph in any direction.

WEAPON SYSTEMS:

  1. RETRACTABLE LASER TURRETS (52): Also called Electro-Elementary Particle Beam Guns, these weapons are scattered along the front, sides, and rear of the ship.  They are hidden beneath a sliding hatch until needed for combat, when the hatch slides back and they rise up for combat.  They are capable of 360* rotation and 180 * arc of fire.
  2. OVERTECHNOLOGY GUIDED LASER BATTERY (17): This heavy laser battery is the primary anti-ship weapon system of the Geisha. It consists of seventeen small lasers located in the front of the ship. These lasers usually fire in conjunction to cause as much damage as possible. They can fire 360 degrees in front of the ship.
  3. RETRACTABLE MISSILE TURRETS (96): These are very similar to the Laser Turrets except that they fire missiles instead of laser beams. They can use several types of missiles according to the mission at hand. Each turret is capable of 360* rotation with a 180* arc.
