| Masssage is able to relax you with out you putting much effort into it.
Laying on a massage table your body can be energized and invigorated I can deffinatly say I do miss my daily massages since I have left school there was most assuredly nothing like getting a daily massage. Here are a few tips for those who have not ever gotten a massage. Maybe a few for those who have. Most massages are given an hour to an hour an half. The price ranges from the type of massage to the therapist. I know when I first started giving massages in school I honestly never had recieved one. I can say I was scared to death and my very first therapist was a male. Being naked in front of a stranger scared the daylights outa me. Heck being naked infront of somone other then my husband at the time scared me.So that I don't completely scare you, I will tell you now most states are required to have a sheet over your body during the massage. Some therapists allow for it to be your option.We only massage one part of your body at a time. For instance If I were massaging your back I would not see anything below your waste line. We prefer you only have your underwear on, no bra, or jewlery. If there is a favorite peice you do not part with. I would suggest leave it at home or we can work around it. There are several Diffrent types of massage..... Swedish is the most requested it is a slow and light massage Deep tissue is a deep massage it is for body areas like your bottom back that has several layers of muscle where the knots tend to be deeper down. Shiatsu is a pressure point massage I like to use it on people that have allergies or are stuffy. I really enjoy this type of massage mixed with a swedish. We actually suggest if you are to sick not to come in. There is a new type of massage I got to enjoy a piece of in school that I'm really wanting to learn more about. It is called rock massage it is actually really relaxing. You lay on the table for a few minutes with layers of towels and hot rocks on your body. then a flatter, oiled, warm rock is used to massage the body it is really a deep relaxing massage. Really you are the one in charge, it is the same as with any thing else you pay for do not be afraid to speak up. If you feel you need a pillow under your legs, tummy or shoulders do not be afraid to ask. If ithe strokes are to deep or to light tell your therapist. They will truly enjoy the feed back and will remember if you return. Last but not least relax and let them do the work for you enjoy your massage and let them do there job. I hope this helps those who have not had a massage. I know how scary it is remember your therapist has been a client as well. We are there to make your exsperience as enjoyable as we can. |
