The Cheshire & N Wales Woodturners Association was formed in 1987 in response to the needs of local woodturners, to bring them together in order to share their interest in turning, to exchange ideas, techniques and generally to share in the appreciation of other turners work.

The aims of the club are:

* to encourage and promote the art and craft of woodturning
* to provide a forum for the exchange of ideas & techniques
* to arrange demonstrations by professional woodturners
* to arrange visits to the major UK woodworking shows
The club is always happy to welcome new members, both beginners and experienced turners, and meets at 7.00pm on the fourth Thusday of the month (except August) at the Memorial Hall, Sychdyn, Mr Mold, Flintshire, UK.
A substantial library of books and videos has been built up over the years for members to borrow.
The club has also invested in a colour video camera, together with two large TVs, so that members can get a good close-up view of what the demonstrators are doing.
