JCC Camp Kingswood, the Camper Years.

bunk 5

This was the second bunk I was in as a camper, which was the first year the camp was owned by JCC. I spent my second two years in this bunk, 1993-94. Unfortunately I don't have a picture of the bunk 7, which is the bunk I spent my first two years in, 1990-91. Incase any of are wondering why you don't see 1992, that is because i skipped that year.

boys bunk 5

Hard at work!

The top picture is of all of the campers who were in bunk 5, including me, but unfortunately I was too fat to fit in a cubby, so I sat on top. The second picture is of my councelor Opie, who in later years ended up being a good friend at the camp. Even though he doesn't seem to be very hard at work in this picture, he was and will always be one of the best councelors Kingswood has ever seen.

Before shave

Doesn't my name start with S?

Holy crap, I'm bald

While in bunk 5, I decided I needed a hair cut. So, I decided I would shave my head for the first time, so my councelor decided to have some fun first. the first picture was before shaving my head. The second picture was my councelor messing around and deciding to put an S on my head. Lastly is me with a completely shaven head, which I ended up getting a sun burn on a few days later. That was my first head shaving experience, and most of you that know me, it definately wasn't my last.

Youngest bog bunk

bk 12

bunk 13

This picture was of the whole bunk my youngest bog year. Underneath is a picture of bunk 12 which was our bunk. Unfortunately I don't have a picture of my everyone in my bunk from my oldest bog year, but the third picture is bunk 13.

On top of Mt. Jefferson

I'm on top of the world

During my youngest bog year we took a trip to Mt. Jefferson and the first pic is of the whole group, minus a couple who were to scared to climb once we got there, on top of the mountain. the second is me, at the peak of the mountain, whcich is what the metal thing under my chin represents.

Randy

Damn we're sexy

The first picture is of Randy, sitting on his bed, and the top bunk is my bed. Randy and me were inseperable at camp. As most of you know he was quite sarcastic, and I think that is why we were so good together. He would talk trash and I would laugh, while I protected him. The second picture is of both of us before the bog toga party, or at least that's what I think it was for.

JCC Camp Kingswood, the CIT Years.

Caught with my pants down

Staff show

These two pictures are from the staff show during my CIT year. The staff show is on the first night of camp, and since it was first session I didn't know a lot of the campers there, so it made what i did even funnier. Our skit everone was coming up one at a time from different place, while singing this song. Not even the other CIT's knew what i was going to do. I figured since I was coming out of the bathroom, I might as well come out with my pants down. As soon as I came out everyone was laughing. If you look closely you can see the director Wayne at the bottom left corner talking to me. For the most part he said, "What are you doing?" So I assured him that I had rugby pants under my t-shirt. The second picture is of all of the CIT's.

Camper abuse

In your dreams

More camper abuse

During second session my CIT year, I lived in bunk 5, once again. One day Pete, on of the councelors in the bunk decided to beat Russ(not seriously, it's just a joke). That is represented by the first picture. The second picture is when Russ tried to take the broom away, but it looked like something else. Lastly, Russ was finally smart enough to get the other broom in the bunk and they play fought for a little while.

First session banquet

Second session banquet

The top picture was from the first session banquet. We chose the them heaven. The gate you see in the background was my only idea for the banquet, for the most part. In the picture is all of the CIT's. The second picture is from the second session banquet for which we chose space and the rocket was Carly and my idea, and once again it was my main contribution.

Is that a bear in the background?

This picture was from our three day trip. First we canoed to a couple of hours to our camp site. Then we set up our campsite. The second day we canoed across the river to where we were going to be hiking. We were supposed to make it to a pond, but as a group we were too slow. We were running out of sunlight so we had to turn around and get back to the canoes quickly, so we could make it back to the camp site before sundown. So Rob, the leader of our trip came up to me and said, "Scott, you are going to get your wish. You are going to follow me and make a path for the rest of the group using this machete." This made me happy cause I kept asking him if i could use the machete and he kept saying no, but finally i got to use it. All I could here from the rest of the group behind me was, "I don't trust him with that." and "He's probably going to miss and hit me." I didn't and we made it on time. The next day was hell. We had to canoe back to where the van was meeting us. Nature was definately against us that day. We were paddling into the current and it was raining. I was in a boat with Jess Aberman, for those who know her, she's not the most powerful girl(no offense Jess). At one point we were quite a ways behind. This upset me, so i got pissed of and started paddling like a mad man. For every stroke she did, I did about five. Eventually we passed most of the canoes and finished either first or second, I can't remember.
