Listed as a comedy, this movie is anything but. "Pieces of April" is better defined as an Indy drama, and an excellent one at that. Holmes stars as April, the black sheep of her family, who learns the real meaning of Thanksgiving as she relies on the kindness of strangers to complete her go at hosting a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. On the flip side, as her dysfunctional family drives to dinner, they discuss "pieces" of April as they remember her.
