TEchnical skills 

 

¨      Experienced in synthesis of a variety of organic compounds especially in the area of hetero Diels-Alder reactions, Organometallic reactions, fluorine substituted bio indoles and imidazoles including amino acid and amino alcohol derivatives and various heterocyclic building blocks such as diazoles, oxazoles, thiazoles, oxazolidinones, thiazolidinones, hydantoins etc.

¨      Experienced in isolation and purification techniques including Flash Column Chromatography, Recrystallisation, Distillation etc.

¨      Experience in using Radleys Greenhouse Parallel Synthesizer (12 and 24 reaction stations)Chemistry, Genevac EZ-2 and instrument H-Cube (automated hydrogenation apparatus from Thales).

¨      Experience in designing and synthesizing organic compounds and the ability to perform multistep synthesis on a milligram, gram to kilogram scale. Worked in an environment of pharmacologists, biochemists, biologists and molecular modelers and interacted with them while designing novel drug like compounds.

¨      Experience in supervising routine lab maintenance tasks such as ordering supplies and periodic maintenance of lab equipments. Experience in maintaining good lab records, computer databases and presenting scientific data and concepts at meetings. Experience in supervising and training associates, assistants and students.

¨      Routinely used modern laboratory techniques and analytical methods (HPLC [Agilent 1100 Series-Method Development and purification checking], GC-MS and LC-MS). Extensive experience in the use of NMR (400MHz) [Brucker & Varian], FTIR (Jasco and Biorad), UV (Beckman DU800) and some experience in computational methods (Titan).

¨      Trained to use Biotage Microwave Apparatus (Initiator eight and sixty) and Automatic Flash Column Chromatography equipments like Biotage SP4 EXP and Argonaut Flash Master II.

¨      Expertise in softwares like Chemdraw, SciFinder, Database formats SDF, Mestrec (NMR software), Endnote, Adobe Acrobat and Photoshop, MS office applications etc.

¨      Good knowledge in computer languages like JavaScript, VB Script, HTML, DHTML, PERL, Web Designing etc.
