Read everything before you look at the picture
A class of elementary students started a class
project to make planters to take home and wanted to have plants in them that
were easy to take care of, so it was decided to use cactus plants. The students
were each given a greenware pottery clown planter that they had professionally
glazed and fired at a class outing so they could see the process. It was great
fun.
They planted the cactus seeds in the finished
planters and watched as they grew nicely. Unfortunately, they were not allowed
to take them home. See attachment to understand why.
The cacti were removed and replaced with small ivy
plants. The children
were then allowed to take them home.
The teacher said cactus seemed like a good idea at
the time... :-)
