The CHS-CNHS Centenary Celebration will be one of the featured events in a multi-sectoral package to be promoted and supported by the Cavite City Government. The event, dubbed as Caviteno Sa Junio, will be a month-long celebrations and festivities to boost the tourism industry of the city.
REGADA 2002: CAVITEÑO SA JUNIO
Progress. Giving up old practices for new ones. For ones, it is a good move in order to keep abreast with the fast changing time. On the other, it means leaving the next generation with nothing but a few precious anecdotes of how life was then. With these things in mind, Caviteños are determined to grasp the promise of better life guided by worthy traditions and practices from then humble and glorious past.
In June 2002, the Cavite City Government, in cooperation with the City Tourism Council, Cavite City Festivals Foundation, Cavite High Centenary Executive Committee, various religious organization and NGOs will take a big leap to achieve this goal – the implementation of an ambitious month long multi sectoral programs and activities that will highlight the significant historical, religious and cultural developments that have guided the city towards where and what it is now. The project is dubbed as REGADA 2002: CAVITEÑO SA JUNIO.

THE PHILIPPINE NATIONAL ANTHEM DAY

On June 5, 1898, Julian Felipe prepared a special hymn upon instructions from Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo in time for the proclamation of Philippine Independence on June 12, 1898. Titled March Filipino Magdalo, the San Francisco De Malabon Brass Band played the hymn on that historic moment. To commemorate this event, the Caviteños pay homage to the great musician responsible for one of Cavite City’s lasting contributions to our nationhood – The Philippine National Anthem.
THE 104th ANNIVERSARY OF PHILIPPINE INDEPENDENCE

Like the rest of the country, the people of Cavite City will be one in celebrating what is considered as the glorious moment in our history as a nation – the elaborate civic-military parade in commemoration of the more than a century of Philippine Independence.
PAN DE SAN ANTONIO: The Cavite’s Pan Fiesta

The festival of breads will be the highlight of this year’s Feast of San Antonio De Padua in Cavite City. Dubbed as PAN DE SAN ANTONIO: The Cavite’s Pan Fiesta, the event will feature PAN DE KARAKOL (a grand parade and street dancing with bread as the theme), MUSIC A LA CART (a garden reception featuring various artists from the music industry) and the devotion that inspired the conception of what could be the very first and only bread-inspired festival in the country, THE BLESSING OF ST. ANTHONY’S BREAD.
THE CAVITE HIGH CENTENARY

The Cavite High School – Cavite National High School, considered as one of the oldest national secondary high schools in the country, will commemorate the centenary of its founding in June 2002. The executive committee has been working conscientiously and exhaustively to ensure a successful and memorable commemoration with no less than Her Excellency Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and other luminaries confirming their attendance during this momentous event.
REGADA 2002: The Cavite City Water Festival
21-24 June 2002Since 1996, Cavite City’s party loving people have successfully combined love for water and celebrations. The event is coined as "REGADA" which was derived from the Spanish word "regar" which means to water or to sprinkle. This is almost a weeklong celebration that is full of culture and plain old fun. The theme is water.

Over the years, more and more people attend the event. Not only because of its festive mood, but also because of the ecological implication and spiritual bonding that the people have come to experience during the affair. For years, the event has experienced tremendous popularity and growing acceptance among Caviteños and local tourists, as well.
SAN JUAN BARRIO FIESTA

Unnumbered miracles have touched the hearts of many devotees of St. John the Baptist, especially those residing along the shoreline of Padre Pio and "Palace" for more than half a century. The same affection and prayers are still in their hearts and this is one of the many reasons why the celebration is pompously and religiously celebrated yearly on June 23-24. The unparalleled devotion inspired the conception of the now widely accepted "REGADA."
LADISLAO DIWA BIRTH ANNIVERSARY COMMEMORATION

A member of the triumvirate that founded the Katipunan (together with Andres Bonifacio and Teodoro Plata), Ladislao Diwa was born in San Roque, Cavite City. He held the rank of colonel in the revolutionary forces. The Caridad Elementary School was renamed after him by vitue of R.A. No. 4005 signed by the late President Diosdado Macapagal on June 18, 1964. The city government and Ladislao Diwa Elementary School will spearhead a tribute in his honor to commemorate his birth anniversary.
KAPISTAHAN NI SAN PEDRO APOSTOL

Yearly, the Parish of St. Peter The Apostle of Caridad & Sta. Cruz-Dalahican Districts in Cavite City is celebrating a feast is in honor of San Pedro Apostol. The event is an expression of gratitude and thanksgiving for the apostolic concern and care and spiritual nourishment that the patron saint has provided the community.
