About San Diego:
Visitors to San Diego like to visit the scenic harbor area just to walk around, to take an excursion boat, or to have lunch with a view.  The San Diego Zoo with many rare animals is one of the world's finest, with the gorillas and the pandas as the most popular exhibits.  The Wild Animal Park, an extension of the Zoo situated in the countryside, offers ample space for many species of wild beasts.

Near the ocean is Seaworld with the famous killer whales and many other aquatic animals.  In nearby La Jolla (a shopping paradise for many out-of-towners) is the Scripps Aquarium displaying exotic fish and other ocean creatures.

San Diego offers a wide variety of cultural activities. Most museums are located in beautiful Balboa Park, which also houses the zoo.   The harbor area hosts pop concerts all summer long.  La Jolla hosts a chamber music festival, which stretches  over several weeks.  San Diego is also a playgoer's dream with many fine theaters throughout the area.

A day in Tijuana is a must for the tourist and the shopper. Take the trolley to the border and walk across into Mexico.  Leave your cares behind and enjoy a Margarita and lunch in a distinctly foreign setting.  While the markets abound with inexpensive trinkets, there are several upscale stores for the serious shopper of jewelry, linens, pottery, perfumes, and leather goods.

The climate in San Diego is subtropical.  It will likely not rain at all in July and August.  During the summer months, the temperature will range between 20 and 30 degrees Celsius, and the sun will shine every day.  Still it would be wise to bring a light sweater as it can get a bit cool in the evening, especially near the ocean.
