| What is Exhibit Day?
Exhibit Day is an annual event at which homeschooled children of all ages have an opportunity to display an exhibit depicting their knowledge on a particular topic. The topic may be related to something that the child has studied during the course of the year or may be an extracurricular topic in which the child has shown an interest. Topics may include science, history, art, literature, life skills, athletics or any other topic which the child has gained a knowledge of, and that would prove to contain educational value. Who can participate in Exhibit Day? Any homeschooled child that agrees to abide by the Exhibit Day Guidelines. What is the cost? The cost is $5.00 per child with a cap of $10.00 per family. Please make checks payable to: Central New England Homeschoolers What do I need to do to participate? Read through this packet and complete and sign the attached registration form. Mail the completed form and payment to: Patty Maciorowski, 172 Minott St., Gardner, MA 01440 no later than April 30, 2008. Due to the time and effort required to organize this event, completing and sending in a registration form means that you have comitted to participting in Exhibit Day. Anyone that does not fulfill this commitment may not be allowed to particpate in future events. Where and when will it be held? The 2007 Exhibit Day will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2008 from 10:00am-11:30am at Bethlehem Bible Church in West Boylstonr, MA. Exhibit Day Guidelines � Arrival and set-up will begin at 9:30am-10:00am will be reserved for set-up completion and also as a time for children to view each other�s exhibits. At 7pm ALL children are expected to return to their exhibit tables and remain there until 11:30am for viewing by the public. � All participants are required to stay for the duration of Exhibit Day. � Each exhibit will have a 4ft. round table space or equivalent. If more space is needed, an additional fee will be charged. � All participants should dress appropriately. Dresses and shirts/ties are not required but do create a nice appearance. Clothing appropriate to the exhibit (historical, costume, etc) is encouraged. Clothing with graphics are not allowed unless they pertain to the exhibit (horse t-shirt for exhibit on horses). � All people should remain in the sanctuary throughout the duration of Exhibit Day. Any child that needs to use the restrooms must be accompanied by an adult. No one is allowed to wander through the building. � There will be no running or horseplay. � Parents with young children are requested to have someone bring the younger children to Exhibit Day for a short period of time if they expect that they will have trouble keeping them occupied for the entire duration of Exhibit Day. � Please remember to respect the property of Bethlehem Bible Church � Most exhibits will be located on a carpeted floor and each exhibitor will be responsible for any messes that occur. If you have a particularly messy project, please bring a disposable plastic tablecloth to place under your table. � At the conclusion of Exhibit Day ALL participants are required to assist in clean up and restoring the sanctuary to its original state. � Any child that is being disruptive or not following these guidelines will be asked to leave and may return at 11:30am to pick up their exhibit. Exhibit Guidelines � Please remember that our exhibits are an example of our homeschools, and should be done with adequate knowledge and preparation of the topic, according to the individual�s age and ability. � Exhibit Day may be the only contact with homeschooling that some people may have, so let us work together to leave a favorable impression on all who attend. � The Exhibit Day coordinators adhere to the MassHOPE Statement of Faith (see MassHOPE Statement of Faith page) and require that exhibits do not promote any materials that would be in conflict with the Statement of Faith or that might be offensive to Christian home educators. Such materials might include exhibits containing witches, ghosts, dragons, or other occult material: science material based on evolution, New Age or overtly humanistic material or any other material that the Exhibit Day coordinator(s) deem inappropriate. Any exhibit containing offensive material must either be modified or removed in its entirety.
