Interview
with current U20 National Team Coach
Jimbob16
1)
When did you first join Hattrick?
Quite
a while back. Dec of 2001 .
2)
What is the name of your HT team and why did you choose that
name?
My
team is the Fighting Monks, named after the Shaolin Monks
3)
What is your team's greatest acheivement during that time
and what is your goal for your team in the future?
I
would have to say at this point surviving in Div. II ranks
as the best my team has done so far. Long term like every
other team is to Make it to the AC and be able to compete
there.
4)
What HT teams do you support with supporter and what federations
are you a member of?
I
support the Spartans of III.8, who i'm sure will find a way
to stay in that div. again. NYFC of II.2, gotta support a
fellow defence trainer. ArsenalPSX of III.8, he made the logo
for me and is a great guy. Mounties United of the AC i support
him but hate the Baxendale movement in general. and lastly
Alderwood Chiefs our first national manager.
5)
If you could add or change a single feature in Hattrick, what
would it be and why?
Faster
training for Simon Ferguson, but seriously i think a global
TL or at least a Sweedish and a rest of the world TL would
help teams from smaller countries get better prices for their
players.
6)
What would be the one piece of advice you would give a manager
just starting on Hattrick?
Read
the rules, read them again and visit
http://www.databased.at/hattrick/index.asp.
7)
If you could have dinner with 3 people from history or alive
today, who would you choose and why?
Don
Cherry, i'm a hockey fan and you never know what's going to
come out of his mouth next.
JFK the last visionary leader the US has had.
and Anna Kournikova...i mean she's just so fine, And I might
be the one person she can actually beat at tennis.
8)
Which football teams do you support in real life, if any?
I
am a supporter of the evil Man U. as for american football
sadly i am a Bills and Eagles fan.
9)
Who is your favorite soccer player in real life?
Zidane,
he is simply the best and plays the game so effortlessly.
10)
Have you ever played soccer and if so, which position did
you play and at which level?
I
was a keeper and defender, i really was an awesome keeper
until we moved to the bigger nets, then i had to switch to
defender as i couldn't stop the ball if they let me build
a brick wall behind me.
11)
Who is the one person in HT you respect/look up to the most?
I
would say Addict, his commitment to the community with Htzine
and his logo making was unparalleled, and he was definately
not afraid to speak his mind
12)
For those of us that are not managers of national teams, explain
how that challenge is different from being a club manager
and what are the pros/cons of being a national team manager?
The
expectations of the nation fall squarely on your shoulders
and you only get one shot to get things right. People have
high expectations for the country esp at the U-20 level where
the teams are very even. This will be our last best shot at
a medal unless Canada as a whole starts some serious growth
as a lot of the competition have 5000+ teams. And we will
not be matched up in a group with Sweeden in the first round.
13)
What is your favorite sports movie?
Gotta
be slapshot, foul mouthed politically incorrect, you had to
love it...though caddyshack was pretty funny too.
14)
What would you is your biggest weakness?
Procrastination,
though i do try to keep it in check.
15)
Boxers or Briefs?
What
no boxer-briefs???
