Lord Benedict Warcrow
played by Derrick, character bio written by Derrick
Born twenty four years ago, to Kailwyn and Hector Mhoried, Benedict was to be raised much the same as any child of Mhoried who's mother was sister to the Mhor. Well trained in both strategy and diplomacy, skilled at battle and trade, but with enough savoir-faire to get by in the courts of other realms when abroad. His father was a strict man, ever disciplining Benedict and forcing unwanted lessons upon him when the boy would have chosen to be riding or hunting, learning the woodlands and about nature like his friends were doing.
When he was ten, his father Hector was leading a force of arms against raiders basing themselves in Markazor, though not part of the Markazor forces themselves. The battle should have been a route, for the Mhoried rangers and horsemen knew the province of Marloer's gap well and the forces were more than evenly matched, however, a force of gnolls attacked from within the five peaks catching the Mhoried troops on the flank, turning the tide against them. In the battle, Hector fell, while leading a counter attack trying to rally his men.
Subsequently, young Benedict was to be raised solely by his mother Kailwyn, a more than capable woman, but not the strict disciplinarian that his father was. By the time he was twelve, benedict was spending nearly three days a week living in the forests, learning from the retired men from his fathers past commands, who had taken the lad under their wing so to speak, but also assured his mother that he would be well cared for and looked after. He was by this time, vowing to hunt down and kill every gnoll on the face of Cerilia and bring Markazor to her knees, to pay for the treason and cowardly acts that led to his father's death.
About this time, he and his mother moved their home to the city of Shieldhaven to begin his training in the arts of diplomacy and his education in earnest. he was brought into the world of Noble courts, taught history and geography and studies weapons and other skills under the watchful eyes of the Mhor's military trainers. He also spent much of his free time in the evening hours, reading or talking to his uncle The Mhor, marveling at stories of his adventures into goblin lands, battles with the Gorgons forces, tales of adventures in far off places and stories of the Temple of Elemental Evil, and how it came to be in its place in the history books.
At seventeen, Benedict was serving full time
as part of a border watch unit, doing what all men of Mhoried do at that
age, spending the first four years of manhood serving as part of the Guardians
of Mhoried. Upon completion, he now roams the borders hunting, living
amongst nature, learning and traveling. He prefers Mhoried to all
the places he has traveled with his
family and could live here quite happily
for years to come, but the winds of fate have brought hints to his ears...
perhaps The Temple of Elemental Evil is not as quiet as everyone had hoped.
Perhaps he will gain the fame his Uncle did in that fated place.
