The topic has one simple but very important aim — to
help us to fully understand the basic ingredients of a vital, growing
relationship with God and to apply them in our life. Maturity and growth are
related, for you to mature you must grow. People begin to mature when they start
to experience the benefits of a deeper relationship with Chiist and his will
for their life. A growing Christian is one who is willing to seek to produce
fruits. Heb 5:13-14
ATTRIBUTES OF A MATURE CHRISTIAN.
Who is a mature Christian?
What are we to watch out for? Eph 4:13-14
Is it essential for
us to mature as Christians? If not what can happen to us? Heb 6: 4-6

THINGS EXPECTED OF A MATURE CHRISTIAN?
The emphasis is on personal discovery and we shall look at some vital
elements that can assist us to mature
spiritually in the Lord

Knowledge in the word of
God
Knowing God in a
personal way is the most important relationship in life. God wants us to know Him
How can we grow? How can the word help us to grow? Josh 1:8, Prov 4:20-23,2 Tim 3:14-17, Lk
8:18, Mk 4:23-24 ~
Feed yourself regularly
on the written word of God, Know its content and do not be easily led astray. If
we want to grow in our relationship with God, we must hear and understand His word
-Strong in Prayer and
Fasting
Prayer is simply talking with God.
How do you get things
from God? Phil 4:6
How do we
encourage each other in fulfilling our needs? James 5:16
If things become
very difficult for a matured Xtian, what should he do? Mat 17: 21
Have prayer and praise
as regularly as important part of his life. We listen to God’s word as we read the
Bible and we talk to Him as we spend time in prayer
-Love and Obedience
What will happen
to us if we do not obey or love as Christ did? in 15:12, Luke 6: 46 —49
How will a
mature Xtian show that he love God? 1 John 5:3
How do we defeat
the evil world as mature Christians? I Jn 5:4
For matured Christians,
obedience is doing what God asked us to do and being what He wants us to be
Tell others about Christ
What is the ultimate command given to every mature Christian? Mat 28:

Throughout the gospel, people who have met Jesus tell others about Him
How do we encourage one another in hith? Heb

Do we expect benefits from fellowship? Acts 2:1-3, lPet 4:9 Eph 4:32, Eph

Fellowship is sharing or having things in common. We fellowship with
other Christians because we share in a
relationship with Jesus Christ.
CONCLUSION
As mature Christians, our responsibility is to equip God’s people to do
his work and build up the church, the body of Christ until we come to such unity
in our faith and knowledge of God~s son that we will be mature and full grown in
the Lord measuring up to the fill stature of Christ. Eph 4:12-13
