In place of being ashamed of the Lord, our testimony to Him should be marked by courage, boldness and power. It should be purpose and goal-driven as against the case of beating about the bush, guess-work, uncertainty and lack of confidence in the One we are testifying to.

2 Tim. 2:11-13 teach us that suffering for the sake of Christ will be followed by glory. So

• If we choose to disown the Lord for whatever reason, He will disown us, v. 12b.
• If we are faithless, He will remain faithful, because He is a faithful and trustworthy God, v. 13.
• If on the other hand we are willing to go so far as to die with Him, He assures us we shall live with Him Who lives forever, v. 11; and
• If we endure, no matter what the evil one and his agents throw at us, we shall also reign with Him Who has overcome and sits at the Father’s right hand until His enemies become His footstool, v. 12a.

• The Lord Jesus is exceptional in His beauty. None can be compared to Him. See John’s description of Him in Rev. 1:12-16.

• Since He has made us sons of God and co-heirs with Him, we shall reign with Him for as long as He reigns – and that is forever. Rom 8:17; 2 Tim. 2:12a; Rev. 22:1-5.

• Instead of being timid, we should teach our children (both physical and spiritual) with all boldness and conviction so they also will be well equipped to teach others. 2 Tim 2:1-2.
• The Almighty God relies on vessels fit for the Master’s use to teach others concerning Him. Gen. 18:17-19; Psalm 71:17-18.
