SHINNING FOREVER IN HOLINESS  - (PART 3)

Memory Verse:  “But let the righteous be glad; let them rejoice before God; yea, let them exceedingly rejoice.” Psalm 68:3.

Bible Passage: Psalm 68: 1-6

LESSON OBJECTIVES

We should at the end of the lesson

a). Understand those blessings that go with the presence of God;

b). Understand the long list of blessings that go with holiness;

c). Understand how these blessings can be ours.

LESSON INTRODUCTION

God’s own type of giving usually goes with the idea of over-flows, or flood proportion. See Psalm 23: 5; Malachi 3: 8-10 (which is associated with His response to our tithing); Luke 6:38.

SHINING THROUGH THE JOY OF HOLY LIVING

You will remember that in our Lesson No. 1 in this series we defined holiness as setting oneself apart from sin and impurity on to God. It goes with dwelling in God’s presence – you are separated on to Him.

So what is the experience of such people?

 i).  One who dwells in God’s presence knows real joy and gladness, Ps.16:11; 68:3.

ii).  They know rest for their souls because God’s presence spells safety, Psalm 71:3. iii). Those who dwell in God’s presence experience His fatherly compassion, Ps. 103: 13-15.

iv). Those who dwell in God’s presence experience lifting up, victory, triumph or exaltation over their enemies or troubles – by God’s own doing, Psalm 27:4-6.

OTHER GLORIOUS BLESSINGS OF HOLINESS

Here we shall see the glorious blessings that go with holiness of life.

Psalm 91:1 reminds us of what we learnt last week. What is that?

There are indeed blessings that are associated with living in God’s dwelling place.

i). When we are there, we are assured of supernatural protection, Psalm 91:11.

ii). In that position, the enemy finds us too tough to overcome, Jeremiah 15:20.

iii). It is God Who grants us supernatural upliftment and promotion, Deut. 28:13.

iv). He grants us favour with both Himself and men, Proverbs 3:4.

v).  As we dwell in His presence, we shall have cause to celebrate in joy, to rejoice in Him, Philippians 4:4.

SUMMARY

These blessings are also for you and me as we live in holiness, as we dwell in God’s dwelling place.

The God of holiness is also the God of blessing. It follows that if we want His blessings, then we too must be holy. There are no two ways about that.
