SHINNING FOREVER IN HOLINESS  - (PART 2)       

 

Memory Verse:  “Who may ascend the hill of the Lord? Who may stand in His holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to an idol or swear by what is false.” Psalm 24: 3-4.

LESSON OBJECTIVES  

We should at the end of the lesson

a). Appreciate and want to enjoy the privilege of being holy;

b). Appreciate and want to enjoy the benefits of dwelling in God’s dwelling place.

 

LESSON INTRODUCTION

Some benefits accrue to those who are described in our Memory Verse. We shall see some of these in our lesson of today.

 

WHY CHRISTIANS MUST BE HOLY

Here we shall focus on the privileges that go with being holy.

 

Can unholy living go with the following privileges?

i).   Access to the inheritance of Christ, “…co-heirs with Christ…”, Rom. 8: 16-17.

ii).  Doing greater work than the Lord Jesus, John 14:12.

iii). Opportunity to present our affairs before God, or reason with Him, Isa.1:18.

iv). The privilege of being strong or bold in the Lord, Eph. 6: 10.

v).   The privilege of chasing away problems and sickness, James 5:15.

vi). The privilege of enlisting in the Lord’s army whose task is to destroy the devil’s work, I John 3:8.

 

What are the dangers in being unholy?

 

DWELLING IN GOD’S PAVILION IS A GREAT PRIVILEGE

Here we shall see the different names of God’s dwelling place, as well as the privileges that accrue or belong to those who dwell there.

 

What are the different names that are associated with God’s dwelling place?

i). Shield/source of help –Deut. 33:29; Psalm 33:20.

ii). Strong tower/place of confidence – Prov. 18:10; Psalm 11:3.

iii). A place of help, or the shield of help – Psalm 17:8.

 

What privileges accrue to those who dwell in God’s pavilion, or dwelling place?

i). God guarantees them protection and help in trouble, Psalm 46:1.

ii). Deliverance from the hands of the enemy, Job5:19; Psalm 56:13; Isa. 49: 24-26.

iii). They are in the position to receive revelations from God, Deut. 29:29; Joel 2:28; Isa. 22:14a.

iv). Fresh/renewed visitations or anointing, leading to vibrant and shining lives, Psalm 103:5; Isa. 40:31.

v). Filling with joy and goodness from the Lord, Psalm 16:11.

In contrast to all these, what is the experience of one who dwells in the devil’s dwelling place?

 

SUMMARY

Your best dwelling place is God’s own dwelling place.
