AIM:    Knowledge about sex and consequences of God in its misuse.

INTRODUCTION

 

Many Christian leaders have fallen in the area of sexuality and brought shame to the name of Christ.

 

IS THIS A REAL PROBLEM IN OUR SOCIETY?

Aids survey in Madras: 1987 1 in 10,000 +ve for aids and in 1995, 1 in 1,000 ±ve for aids virus.

Survey of well known schools and colleges: 35% girls and 50% boys admit having sex Aids and sexual practice in 250 adult males in Vellore: 54% premarital sex, 51 % extra marital sex.

3.                  For intimacy and oneness — Genesis 2:24-25

WHAT IS THE LIMITATION OF SEX?

Restricted to marriage — Deuteronomy 23:17-18; Proverbs 5:18-20; 1 Corintians 7:3-5

 

WHAT ARE SEXUAL SINS?

3.            Physical adultery — Exodus 20:15,17

4.           Mental adultery — Matthew 5:27-28

 

DANGERS OF SEXUAL SIN

I.    God’s law is broken in full awareness — Exodus 20:14, 1 7

2.  Rebellion against God’s standards — Romans 1:25—27

3.  Hearts gets hardened

4.    You don’t realize it is happening until it is too late.

 

HOW TO PROTECT ONESELF FROM FALLING?

 

1.  I-have faith in God and remember His goodness

        2. Dispel the illusion of invincibility                                                                                     

Recognize the force of environment and change it.

3.  Go on the offence against ones own depravity — Philip 4:8; Romans 12:1-2 Radical change in lifestyle and life’s priorities -

 

Conclusion:        Sexual sins are an abomination unto the Lord. Keep away from this, lest God’s grace depart.

 

Application:       Per Matthew 5:27-28 Jesus said that if the act is wrong then the intention as well. Christians have to think that which is noble and pure Philippians 4:8
