The question of "What must I do to be saved?" was asked by the Philipian Jailer to Paul & Silas when he saw the mighty power of God in action (Acts 16:30). The rich ruler asked Jesus "What must I do to inherit eternal life?" (Lk18:18). Necodemus also asked Jesus "What can I do to enter into the kingdom of God?", Jesus answered him "Except a man be born again, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God".

I believe you are conscious of being saved and so the questions above could be on your lips and need to be sorted out for you to know your stand, for every person is given the opportunity to get right with God.

It is appointed unto man once to die, after that judgement. Jesus Christ is the Judge.

Jesus said " I am the way and the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father (God) except through me." (John 14:6)

If you would like to know Jesus as your personal Lord and Saviour and be saved, take the following steps:

1. Acknowledge : You must acknowledge in the light of God's word that you are a sinner. For ALL have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Rom 3:23). The wages of sin is death Rom 6:23. Your stand should be - God be merciful to me a sinner (Luke 18:13).

2. Repent: To repent here means that you will agree with God about your sin and are sorry enough to change your ways. Repent ye therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out (Luke 18:13). Except you repent, ye shall all likewise perish (Luke 13:13).

3. Confess: Confess now to God the fact that you are a sinner and has broken his law. For with the mouth confession is made unto salvation (Rom 10:10). If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleans us from all unrighteousness.

4. Forgiveness: In humility and remorse, ask for forgiveness from God. There is forgiveness with the Lord (Ps 130:4). In Jesus Christ we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to thr riches of His grace. (Eph 1:7).

5. Forsake: You must confess and forsake your sins, determine and make up your mind that you will not leave a sinful way of life again. It is not good at all to confess your sin and go back to them again. Let the wicked forsake his way, and the righteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord for he will abundantly pardon (Isaiah 55:7).

6. Believe: Jesus died on the cross for you. Believe that it was your sins that he took away as he said "it is finished" on the cross. There is nothing more for you to do to be saved if only you believe. If thou shall confess with thou mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved (Rom 10:9). For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth on Him should not perish, but have everlasting life (John 3:16).

7. Receive: As you have done the above, the miracle of the new birth is about to happen in your life now. It takes place when Jesus comes into you. Jesus is standing at the door of your heart right now. "Behold I stand at the door and knock, if any man hear my voice and open the door, I will come in to him" (Rev 3:20). "As many as receive him, to them he gave power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name" (John 1:11-12).

Why not ask him in now to come into your life?. This is your time to be free once for all. For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not as a result of works, that no one should boast (Eph 2:8-9). Do not be afraid of your sin again, for your are now free and a child of God as you pray this prayer:

If you prayed that prayer sincerely, you are now a child of God. You are a member of his family and a new creature in Christ and the angels in Heaven are rejoicing over you. You will have eternal life with Him forever.
