worthy thoughts. Those thoughts
must be communicated
worthily.”
-- John Edmund Haggai

Bosses don’t
like it, but leaders and innovators do
like It.”

7. Biblical point of view
- Am I a bridge — builder for
Christ?
Bridging the gap between Christ’s Church and today’s
world.
What is a
Bridge-Builder?
A bridge-builder is one who has made a commitment to
understand people with different backgrounds and beliefs in order to make
Christianity relevant to these people.
The problem of
Isolation
Today’s Christians are often viewed by the world as
anti-intellectuals, as people who have neglected their minds in order to become
“spiritual”. But with this mentality, we are unable to address the critical
issues of our day, and so our culture begins to look elsewhere for answers.
Contextualization: Christ’s Example
Contextualization means becoming identified with the
opposing party and requires breaking through cultural barriers in order to
establish communication.
God took on our context, and in doing so; He broke
through two barriers that kept man from having a relationship with Him:
• Humanity barrier.
• Sin barrier.
This contextualization continues through God’s
people. God called every believer to be an ambassador for Christ.
Communication: Why?
1. It’s
basic in human interpersonal
relationships.
2. Transmits
information through words, pictures, symbols, or actions,
necessary
to achieve objectives
3. Prevents misunderstanding
4. Helps to
get the right things.ci~T~%- through people.
S. Helps the
reproduction of leaders.
6. To. persuade It’s God’s will to
communicate since He was the first communicator and the greatest One.
7. It’s a
part of our job description as Christ’s ambassadors.
8. To bridge
the gap between God and sinners.
9. To bridge
the gap between Christ’s Church and today’s world.
“ Learning to communicate
effectively is important to you as a leader because you will never reach your
leadership potential without it.”
