BLESS THE LORD - (PART 3)
Memory Verse: “Be
joyful always.” I Thess. 5: 16. (NIV).
Bible Passage: Exodus 15: 1-18.
LESSON
OBJECTIVE
We
should, at the end of the lesson, be able to see that the praises due to the
Lord are from everlasting to everlasting.
LESSON
INTRODUCTION
While
we have breath, we should praise God all the time. Ceasing to praise the Lord
is like wanting to stop breathing.
LESSON
OUTLINE 1: PRAISE THE LORD IN THE MORNING, ALL DAY LONG AND EVERMORE
When is the
right time for praising God?
i). God visits man
in the morning, and indeed every moment. Job
7: 17-19.
ii). Man should
sing praises to God in the morning. Psalm
59: 16.
iii). Man should in
fact do more than that by praising God both in the morning, noon as well as in
the night. Psalm 34: 1; 134: 1.
iv). Praising God
must be what we do with joy – and not with a long face.
I Thess. 5:
16.
v). Praising God
should be our business to the end of our lives. Psalm 104: 33.
Why do you
think God wants us to rejoice evermore?
LESSON
OUTLINE 2: WE ARE TO PRAISE GOD IN ALL CIRCUMSTANCES
i). God commands
the work of His hands to praise Him in all situations.
I Thess. 5:
18.
ii). In all places
– while inside the fire, deep water, in the air and on land – His praise should
continually be in our mouth. Isaiah 43:
1-3.
iii). In all
situations – famine, persecution or even imprisonment for the sake of the Lord,
in poverty or prosperity – His praise should continually be in our mouth. Acts 4: 18-22; 5: 40-41; 16: 22-25; I Peter
4: 12-16.
LESSON
OUTLINE 3: WE ARE TO PRAISE GOD TO ETERNITY
Just
like the angels do, praising God with a loud voice will be our full time job in
heaven. Rev. 5: 11-12; 19: 1-7.
(The
word “Hallelujah” comes from two Hebrew words which mean “Praise the Lord”.)
SUMMARY
Since
we are to praise Him in eternity, we should begin to praise the Lord now in all
situations and circumstances. God inhabits the praises of His people. (Psalm 22: 3. KJV.)
