Then there are those who choose the road
of walking beside you to your journey's end.
Who comfort you, hold you and share your life's load
and help your broken dreams to mend.

And as time goes on we tend to forget
those who hadn't stayed too long.
We don't remember how life was like before we met
and what part they played in our life's song.

You see, every song has a chorus and verse
that tells the whole story that each life has wrote.
But remember my friend that at the very first
each song started with just one little note.

That little note doesn't seem like much alone
but put it along side the many which follow
and you'll see how much it lends to the song's tone
and without it the song sounds off key and hollow.

Some may appear but only once, others... time and again
but each has played an important part, you'll find.
So thank everyone who has added to each refrain,
for they wrote your life's song, one little note at a time.
