cup margarine, softened |

cup brown sugar |

cup molasses |

Directions
In a bowl, with an electric mixer on medium speed,
cream together softened margarine, brown sugar, and molasses. Combine flour, baking soda,
cloves, cinnamon, ginger, and salt. Add to the creamed mixture alternately with water, mixing
well after each addition. Roll out on a floured surface; cut with a cookie cutter. Place on
greased baking sheets. Bake at 375°F for 8 minutes. Cool for 4 minutes on the pan. Remove to
a wire rack to cool completely. Decorate with Royal Icing.
