1. What you should know first
------------------------------------------------

This tileset makes use of six 4x4 power plant
tiles. Note that even though the power plants
will look like pieces of the mall, they will
still function like power plants. In other
words, they will still pollute in the game and
produce power. It should be further noted that
the Mall of America is for looks (and it looks
damn cool at that!). Don't expect it to increase
tourism or commerce in your city. Unfortunately,
Maxis didn't give us SCURK artists the power to
change each buildings' function. We can only
act as cosmetic surgeons.

2. General install instructions
-----------------------------------------------

You should be familiar with installing SCURK
tilesets for use with SimCity 2000. If you are
not, please consult the manual--it explains
everything you would possibly need to know. If
you don't know what SCURK is, or need
additional information, you should read the
SCURK FAQ at:

http://www.sc3000.com/sc2000/scurk/scurkfaq.htm

For the tileset versions of this set, all mall
segments are in their correct place. If this is
the version you have, you should proceed to
section 3 below. If you have the PCX version
(or any other version that supplies raw image
files), you need to place the 6 images in the
correct tilebases using SCURK's Paint the Town
utility. The images are placed as follows:

* Notes
- The extension may not always be PCX.
In some cases, it may be GIF.

- You must position the image in the tilebase
perfectly or the tiles will not "fit". Just
make sure to line up the bottom edge of the
image with the bottom of the tilebase.

moa1.pcx - put in "Gas" power plant tile
moa2.pcx - put in "Oil" power plant tile
moa3.pcx - put in "Nuclear" power plant tile
moa4.pcx - put in "Solar" power plant
moa5.pcx - put in "Microwave" power plant tile
moa6.pcx - put in "Fusion" power plant tile

3. Placing the mall in your city
-----------------------------------------------

Once you've installed or loaded the tileset for
use in SimCity 2000, you're ready to place the
buildings. I STRONGLY recommend that you use
SCURK's Place and Print utility to place the
mall. This way, you do not have any money or
technology contraints to deal with. In other
words, the mall won't cost you a dime and all
power plants will be available, as opposed to
placing the mall in SimCity 2000 where you'll
be charged an arm and a leg, and some power
plants may not be invented yet.

The tiles should be arranged in a row format.
You place the first 3 tiles in order from left
to right, and then the last 3 tiles right below
the first row, from left to right. Note that the
6 mall segments should be ordered correctly when
you select them from with SCURK, if you follow
the power plant tiles from left to right in the
object selector window of Place and Print. Here
are step-by-step instructions:

1. Find a 12x8 section. If you can't find one,
bulldoze! This is, after all, urban renewal!
2. Zoom into your city all the way
3. Locate your powerplants and select the Gas
power plant (note: this power plant will be
called "Mall of America 1" in the Windows
version). Place it in the upper left-hand
   corner of your cleared space.
4. To the right of the tile above, place the
Oil power plant (Mall of America 2 in
   Windows).
5. Now place the Nuclear power plant (Mall of
America 3 in Windows) to the right of the
   above power plant.
6. Now you should have a row of three segments,
making up the north end of the mall. Go to
   step 7.
7. Start a new row below the first tile you
placed, from left to right. Only this time,
place the Solar, Microwave, and Fusion power
plants (Mall of America 4, 5, and 6 in
   Windows, respectively).
8. All done! Isn't it beautiful?

-----------------------------------------------
4. Known issues
-----------------------------------------------

- After rotating your city, the mall will
become garbled as each segment no longer
faces the correct direction. The mall will
only appear correct in the same rotation
  angle you built it in.

- Other power plants in your city will look
funny. If you really like the look of the
mall in your city, you can always bulldoze
the other power plants and use the mall for
power instead. It'll easily power an entire
  city, with power to spare!
