| Christophe here: I had a challenging trip with fourteen kids this past week. It was dificult to monitor all them constantly. My kid radar was at its limits, especially considering I had Cole on this trip. Cole is a very challenging boy. He is at that point where he is between boyhood and adolesence and challenges authority sonstantly. What he soes not yet understand is that if he didn't test my authority, then I would not have to exercise it. But, boys will be boys. Sea Kayaking itself was really fun. I liked it best because being on the water gave me the best perspective on the whole group. I did not have to stress over all of their whereabouts. We had a pleasant daytrip to the far end of the lake where we ate luch and explored the inlet. On our return trip we had a massive head wind to overcome. Some of the kids were nervous, but after a group briefing they tackled it nicely. It definately tired them all out. The scenery here was very beautiful. Again I wish that I had a camera of my own to use and share with you, but I don't yet. Someday. The mountains surrounding us were very green with some small snow fields at the top. They were carved by streams giving them steep narrow cuts. The lake itself is glacial fed giving it a bluish teal tint from the glacial silt. Very cool indeed. Tranquil. Deep. This is Christophe signing off, be well and live fully. |
