The Chopper Page The Chopper Page

These are the pics of a basicly stock 1974 CB750K,

this is how I picked the bike up in the summer of 2001

at the time it already had a 16" HD rear rim laced on

the stock hub and an aftermarket bolt on king/queen seat

in these pics I started the chopping,

removed the outside backbone tubes

and mocked up the Mustang single cap tank

to get an idea on what it would look like when done

I have the frame welded up after strecthing the down tubes

and installing a modified 79 DOHC CB750 swingarm,

the front end is a 12" over shocked girder

with colony pike nuts installed,

the rear fender is off an FXST

and the gas tank is a single cap mustang style,

seat is a stock HD softail that

has been modified to fit my frame

the sissy bar is hand made and dates back to 1976 except

the rising sun maltese cross at the top

which I just tacked in place for now

I have done a little bit more work to the chopper.

I decided against adapting the stock front wheel with disc brake to the girder

to correct the trail for better and safer handling I am using a 17inch spoked wheel with halcraft mini-drum brake

I also obtained and heavily modified a HD Saoftail seat to fit my modified frame

The oil tank is posibly an old crusty Santee (looks similar to pics I have seen)

I have modified the opil tank.battery box by stetching it aprox. 1 1/4 inche on each side taking the volum from 2 quarts to 3 1/2 quarts

I also scavengedthe oil line fittings from my stock oil tank

and welded them to the new tank

it still needs some work but has been tested for leaks which there are none

I then welded mounting tabs to the frame

the front of the seat still needs a mounting point but thta is a no brainer and will only take a little bit of time to complete
