TBS's fourth live show (first in over six months) was at the Raft. On the bill was neu-jazz-instrumental trailblazers Panther Attack, one of those rare but magnifico bands that is a musician's band. TBS opened to a good-sized crowd of friends, fans, family, and co-workers. This time around TBS introduced a few newbies to their repertiore; 'Reflections of Pandora and the Chubby Red Auto' ( a really kookie cooky with hip guitars, keys, and synths which sounded like the Pixies, the Cars, and a few elves from Cotton Candy Wood all sat around for days trying to come up with this one),'Sybil Starvoid' (a hyper-cool song about The Empress of the pathways that lead to our hearts - and to nowhere! A definite crowd favorite to come), and 'Thanks for Coming' (a cool set closer that would make Uncle Wayne [of TFL] proud). "Did you know that if is in the middle of the word life?" Along the way TBS pulled out a few unexpected audiatic surprises to intrigue the crowd. All in one of this young band's best performances! -CN |
