CMU L.A.D.I.E.S. consists of girls from three different years, eleven majors, five colleges, and three ethnicities.  The
first step in our journey toward sisterhood was getting to know one another.  Sleepovers, dinners, road trips, and simply hanging out brought us closer together mentally.  Each girl started off with her own seperate goals and motivations, but on top of that formed a strong, unified goal:   The establishment of a solid foundation for a new Asian-interest sorority.

Philantropy is a core concentration of the sorority.  With the national philantropy dedicated to national breast cancer awareness, the L.A.D.I.E.S. has made weekly visits The Residence (a nearby nursing home located in downtown Pittsburgh) to keep the elder members of the community company.  In the past we have had long conversations with the residents, made Valentines Day cards with them, organized Bingo nights (their all-time favorite), as well as provided musical enlightenment for their enjoyment.  Community service remains the prominent focus in L.A.D.I.E.S. events.

Our logo consists of three drops embraced by a ring.  The drops represent the love, friendship and sisterhood that we seek to gain in the process as an interest group, and possibly beyond.  The elements were chosen to symbolize the tears that we shed when we experience happiness, sadness, excitement, and every other emotion we face together.  In addition, they symbolize the sweat we perspire through hard work and determination.  The ring surrounding the three drops symbolizes our unity, our love for each other, as well as encompasses the work, time and effort put into the L.A.D.I.E.S.
