The 12th Biennial Report of the Illinois Bureau of Labor Statistics p. 210+ reports on a variety of industries and gives some idea of the disparity between mens' and womens' wages. Statewide 1900 data shows males working an average of 290 days per year and earning an average of $553.52 annually. Females averaged 295 days and $313.42 annually. The Chicago Budget for 1900 give an idea of the wages paid in the public sector.
