Is roleplaying/gaming evil?

I must say no.

Wait, hear me out.

Gaming, roleplaying as it is normally called, is not an evil act.
Roleplaying, put simply, is merely the action(s) of several people who play out the actions of their characters.
A responsible roleplayer (gamer) hurts noone, destroys nothing, and affects nothing of real-life/real-world.

Roleplayers do, however, discuss the actions of their characters.
This means that though they might *NEVER* actually do any of these things (hunt dragons, burn villages, don armor, etc), their characters may actually be committed to doing such things because it's the character's nature/demeanor/alignment.

Any other questions about this should be made to a DM, or a responsible roleplayer.

"It's always the few that mess it up for the rest of us..."

The whole history of associating evil acts with roleplayers goes back to a irresponsible group(s) of people that chose to make reality and fantasy have no boundaries. Their actions caused this confusion between a responsible roleplayer and an irresponsible roleplayer.

All roleplayers must know the following:

Fantasy and Reality are two different things!
Just because you may find something out (player) doesn't mean your character knows that too (player/character knowledge)
