LEBOWSKI FEST!!!!!

2005 at CAL BOWL

Here are some pictures from that awesome evening.

It started off with an intense viewing of The Big Lebowski to pick up as many small details as possible.

After all, there was to be a Lebowski trivia game, and we needed to cram right before competing.

Me and Donald even paused the movie on little things like what's printed on Donny's shirts.

We figured we were ready after turning a 2 hour movie into an almost 4 hour study session.

By the way, look how pimply my face is... that's because all I do is watch Lebowski and eat candy.

Driving to the Cal Bowl in Lakewood. It took a little over an hour. I was waiting at a red light when this was taken.

When we arrived, we met up with the "real" Dude, Jeff Dowd.

The Coen Brothers based Jeff "The Dude" Lebowski on him.

Hey look, he's even got his favorite beverage in hand.

Round 1 of the Lebowski trivia started, and I felt pretty good about my answers.

I had a hard time with two of the questions, so I just guessed.

They would announce who moved on to Round 2 later.

After bowling a few games, I met Liam (Jesus' bowling partner), and the Ralph's checkout girl.

Look who escaped from prison just to say hello to us!

Round 2 started... and me and Donald's names weren't called to move on.

If WE couldn't make it to Round 2, we wondered how hard those questions must be!

Round 3 would be announced later on... so we decided to go do something else.

Like meet The Big Lebowski himself, David Huddleston.

I did some karaoke after that, singing Come Sail Away in the style of "Macho Man" Randy Savage.

I cleared the room... but then the room filled back up when they announced Round 3.

There were only three contestents left. Here's a sample of the questions asked.

"What does it say on Donny's shirt in the beginning and ending of the movie?"

Me and Donald knew that one because we paused the movie to read his shirt.

So then the next question was "What's the name of Smokey's bowling team?"

Well the answer to that one is The Cavaliers! We knew that one, too.

Then... the ultimate question... the one that decided the winner.

"Take the number of bells on The Big L.'s jacket...

Add the number of episodes Arthur Digby Sellers wrote of Branded...

Subtract the number of lanes that used to be in the Hollywood bowling alley where the movie was filmed."

Me and Donald knew how many episodes A.D.S wrote of Branded...

But we were dead in the water when it came to the other two numbers.

I guess next time we'll need to study the night before, instead of right before leaving the house.

NOW IT WAS COSTUME CONTEST TIME!

Mr. Treehorn treats objects like women, man!

V.I. Lenin!

In N' Out employees and Moses to Sandy Koufax.

A fairly decent looking Dude.

Walter was the winner! He was too cool to turn toward the camera, though. That was beneath him.

This time, I won third place at trivia!

Here are a couple pictures.

This guy obviously won best Dude costume!

Liam and me... we gonna FUCK you up!

Well, that's it! Now go back to the main page or something.
