Mrs. Linda Matthis is the Media Coordinator at Central Middle School. She graduated from Mars Hill College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education K-3 and from Appalachian State University with a Master’s Degree in Library Science K-12. Mrs. Matthis has taught in the regular classroom and has been a Media Assistant and a Title I Math teacher and Title I Reading teacher. She has also been a Title I Home-School Coordinator with Guilford County Schools. Mrs. Matthis had 16 years of service with the Guilford County Schools System and has been employed with Surry County Schools for 7 years – a 23-year veteran in education. She really enjoys being the Media Coordinator at Central Middle School and being a part of the Surry County School System.

          Mrs., Matthis is married to her wonderful husband, Frank. Her children, daughter, Christy, and her son-in-law, Mike, are very special. Her pets are “Nina”, a prissy little Chihuahua and a pair of tropical lovebirds named “Romeo” and “Juliet”, and a little Chihuahua granddog named “Roxy”.
